Our practice follows the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Committee on Immunization Practices of the Communicable Disease Center (CDC).
The physicians of Papago Buttes Pediatric Center feel that all the immunizations recommended by the above organizations are appropriate and safe. Our practice will not provide immunizations unless they have met the standards of these organizations.
Vaccines have performed incredibly in preventing diseases that in the past were commonplace and were expected to occur with all the associated morbidity and mortality. We are now able to prevent serious diseases from occurring. The vaccines have performed so well that nowadays physicians see very few-if any-of these preventable diseases. As new vaccines are developed they are added to the schedule.
